I am a carpet and upholstery cleaner for Advantage Chemdry a sister company to “All Clean Air Duct Cleaning” and I have received a little training on the Utah air duct cleaning process.  I was recently at a customer’s house where they were having their whole house cleaned before they move into the house they just bought.  I was there first to clean up the carpets and they told me that they were having air duct cleaners coming just after I got started on my work.  So they show up and I see them speaking to my customer and I was expecting for them to come in with all of their equipment like what I have seen All Clean use.  Instead they came in with a large vacuum like the ones from a central vac unit.  I then looked out at their car and saw that they had no van but an older car with a large trunk for the equipment.  Also their large facial hair and earrings didn’t seem very professional but I guess matched the car I saw.  I talked to them and they said that they just open up the vents and pushed a scrubber brush down the vents then went behind with the big vacuum hose.  Also the customer said that they saw signs of mice in the basement and maybe in the vents.  The customer came to me and asked about a product that the duct cleaners were trying to sell them that was for $200 that would decompose any rat or mice droppings along with the mice themselves.  I had never heard of a product like that but they wanted my opinion on it.  It’s hard because with the method that All Clean uses there would be no need to decompose anything because their cleaning process would suck up any and all droppings and things left in the ducts or furnaces.  The way All Clean does their cleaning an expensive decomposing chemical would not be necessary.  All clean has disinfectants that are recommend to fog through the system but there will not be things left in the ducts to decompose.

In the long run I am much more impressed with the way that All Clean Air Duct Cleaning scrubs their customer’s vents.  They seem to be a whole lot more thorough with their negative air flow system and what seems to me a whole lot better scrubbing action of the vents.  I can’t imagine just spraying some stuff down my heater vents to decompose rat feces then it turning into dust that will be circulated back throughout my house.

Recently, I had the pleasure of showing a customer the advantages of using Chem Dry Utah carpet cleaning verses dry cleaners. We had cleaned her sofa a couple of days earlier when she called our office and asked if we could get throw-up out of a sofa cushion covers. During the conversation I found out that she had taken the covers off of the cushions and sent them to a dry cleaner to remove the odor days before we came out. So I had her bring the covers in and as I was cleaning them for her, we discussed the difference between wet and dry cleaning. Dry is Dry, it does nothing. Water with agitation and some upholstery pretreatment was all it took. So if you have any questions about whats on the label and how its supposed to be cleaned, give us a call please! With more than 30 years Utah carpet cleaning experience you can be sure that we know how to care for your carpet and upholstery.

Normal messes on carpet or upholstery take normal Utah carpet cleaning. However there are times when a death of a loved one, human or pet can cause bodily fluids to get all over the carpet and or upholstery. This can be a more extensive cleaning that your Utah carpet cleaning appointment would be able to do.  In many instances the material needs to be removed out of the home.  This can be done safely and effectively by our trained professionals. We have a team of professionals able to remove the toughest of messes and restore your home back to normal. In some instances building material needs to be removed and replaced, such as carpet, padding, subfloors and drywall.  Most times these types of accidents could be covered under homeowners insurance and our sister company “Bio Clean of Utah” would work directly with them after you call us. We hope that you may never need to call us for such a cleanup, but things happen and when they do it is best to leave it to those who can do it correctly.

I had a interesting call recently. A customer called, we had done her carpet cleaning in Salt Lake City. The problem was that she also wanted the protectant. She usually has the protectant applied when she gets her carpets cleaned. She was not at home for this carpet cleaning, her husband was and she had not given him any specific instructions about protectant.  He said no to the having the protectant applied, because of the added cost. Well as lack of luck would have it: they had two spills on the carpet within four days. One of the spills was from red wine and would not come entirely with the Chem-Dry spot remover, leaving a pink stain in the carpet. Carpet protectants help to protect against stains and also help more dry soils to vacuum up.

She was sad and disappointed of course. We were happy to help the best we could. We offered to come back and do the spot cleaning for free, and apply the protectant for the same price we offered at the time of the original cleaning. the was one lesson to be learned though. The spot cleaning did not remove all of the pink stain from the wine. Fortunately, our red stain removal process was able to get the red dyes out, and this this case did not leave a trace of pink. This is a slow and tedious procedure at an additional charge, but is usually successful with the red dyes from food and drinks. So, the next time we’re doing your carpet cleaning in Salt Lake City don’t forget the protectant.

Excellent Utah Carpet Cleaning

The seasons take a toll on the floors inside our homes and getting them clean is best left to the professionals who know how to handle the fibers of expensive carpets. Most homeowners look at their wall to wall carpets as a significant investment and taking good care of them is important. There are always options when you seek carpet cleaning in Utah, but it is wise to be aware of the most effective and natural choice that can leave carpets very clean and fresh with absolutely no sticky residue of any kind of soap or detergent. This method is also as earth friendly as can be.

The secret to Green Carpet Cleaning In Utah is the use of carbonated water, and no harsh chemicals. The same effervescent feeling you get from a refreshing sparkling water as a drink can be the power that gets your carpets cleaner than they have ever been. The carbonated fresh, clean water is a gentle and effective way to lift the dirt embedded in the carpet and float it to the surface for easy extraction. The use of charged clean water is the way to remove all dirt and stains from the carpeting with no soapy film left behind. No film or residue to attract dirt means carpets are cleaner and they also stay cleaner longer.

For the household that have pets, there are always the additional concerns of keeping the floors fresh and clean while removing the telltale signs that the pets may have left on the floors. For urine odor removal Utah carpet cleaners know what a challenge it can be. If the odors can be corrected, you can trust Advantage Chem-Dry to diagnose the problem and give you your options.

Trusting the professionals for carpet cleaning in Utah is the way to have floors that are clean and carpeting that is soft and like new, even after it has been there for many years or even decades. Taking good care of the investment you have in your floors pays off with longer lasting, fresher carpeting.

Winter is an excellent time to have your upholstery cleaned. Many fabrics require special attention and treatments. We are less busy in the winter months and this allows us a greater opportunity to make sure we are able to spend the necessary time when cleaning delicate fabrics. Also, by tradition we offer a winter special that gives additional savings on upholstery cleaning. Our current winter special will give you a larger discount the more upholstery you have cleaned.

There are many differences in fabrics. Some of the cleaning instructions found on clothing labels include: use cold water, hot water, hand wash, hang dry, dry-clean only, etc. Fabrics on furniture have very special needs also. Although most furniture will have labels with cleaning instructions or cleaning codes they are usually not very helpful. There are only three cleaning codes:

W – Stands for water. This fabric should be safe to clean with water based products.

S – Solvent cleaning is recommended.

X – Do not clean by any method.

Other labels on furniture are usually not any more helpful, they rarely tell us what the fabric is made from. (No, the little black and white labels that begin, “All new material consisting of”, are not referring to the fabric but instead refer to the batting and foam.)All of our technicians receive training on analyzing and testing fabrics and on all of the products, methods and techniques to clean all of these different types of fabrics.

Tips:

1 – Ask for the fiber content of the fabric when you buy new furniture. It will not be on the labels, and will probably not be on any of the literature you receive either. The information is available though, if you ask for it. (Fewer than 1% of customers know the exact fiber content of the fabrics on any of their furniture.)

2 – If you don’t know what you are doing – call us! You could damage your furniture.

3 – For furniture that is more durable, serviceable and cleans up nicely, limit your choices to synthetic fibers.

4 – For additional savings, have us apply the protectant on your new furniture rather than the furniture store.

Green cleaning chemicals are eco-friendly. The green label on these products implies that they are non-harmful to the environment. The popularity of these solutions has been increasing over the last few years and will likely continue to rise as more people become aware of the harmful effects of toxic chemicals.

It is a proven fact that many cleaning detergents are harmful. Just take a look at a conventional detergent’s MSDS sheet and you may find a host of known hazardous ingredients. Continuous use of these artificial cleaning detergents can damage surfaces and can affect the health of the person using the detergents as well as those who are exposed to the area. After all, the chemicals in such detergents do not breakdown readily and remain as toxic residue in the environment.

Using green chemical products as a substitute for harmful chemical detergents is the solution. Green cleaning chemicals are easily biodegradable and do not convert into toxic residues when introduced into the environment. In addition, they do not cause any harm either to the people in the area or to the surface.

Green cleaning services are available to you through Advantage Chem-Dry. We take pride in using green, eco-friendly products to clean your Norther Utah home. Why put your family and pets in danger with the harsh cleaning chemicals used by other carpet cleaning companies? Advantage Chem-Dry uses carbonated water to clean your carpets. The water we use is so safe, the FDA has approved it for human consumption. How is that for safe?

Chem-Dry is more than just a carpet cleaning solution. It is much more than a unique process or even a growing franchise system.

Chem-Dry’s origins date back to a young man working his way through law school in the early 1970′s. Robert Harris was a carpet cleaner and was working for someone else. Unhappy with the performance of the cleaning products then available, he began looking for a better solution. His research stretched into years and years of studying the chemical properties of cleaning formulas and years of backbreaking experiments which required cleaning areas of dirty carpet with one formula and then another.

Eventually he found his formula – a revolutionary carbonated solution that not only cleaned beautifully, but was also safe and non-toxic. With the birth of Chem-Dry came self-employment and success. The demand for his cleaning services mushroomed and soon friends and family clamored for his secret. From the first small group of franchises, the Chem-Dry network has grown to thousands of successful franchises around the world
