Why cleaning & protecting leather furniture is so important..

Oils & Grease – Body oils from both humans and animals attach and hold on to leather. Body oils are easily transferred to the head cushions and armrests of the furniture and can cause serious damage to the protective finishes found on leather.

Atmospheric Soils – Consider the dust that builds up on a coffee table or desk over a week’s time. This same dust is being deposited on your leather. Additionally, consider the airborne cooking oils and atmospheric pollution that are present, to some degree, in every home. These elements can wear down leather over time.

Common Soils – These soils include dirt tracked in from outside along with sand and fibers from plants, brought into the home by people and pets.

Dyes and Inks – The inks from newspapers and dyes from denim can transfer onto leather in a process called dye transfer. Additionally, the risk of ink from a leaky pen or the aspiring toddler who loves to draw should not be forgotten.

It is recommended to have your leather furniture professionally cleaned twice a year.

I am excited to talk about ChemDrys’ new Encapsulation system for commercial carpet cleaning. This I think is the best system yet, for care and maintenance of commercial carpet. Its just a matter of applying the Encapsulating Cleaner which emulsifies and suspends common soils to the carpet fibers and provides an additional soil repelling barrier. It is agitated with a soft carpet brush that also grooms as it cleans. As it dries, the polymer crystallizes and flakes off with vacuuming. Used in conjunction with ChemDrys Hot Carbonating Extraction, it is one of the best cleanings you will have ever seen. And the results are Fantastic! I have been cleaning commercial carpets for about 7 years now, using bonnet method, truck mounted extraction, portable extraction, etc. We have begun to use Encapsulation on all but those very greasy or impacted soils. And have begun to bid out customers specifically for Encapsulation Cleaning.

We used this system on one of our best commercial jobs recently that is real picky about how well the carpet is groomed when we’re done. We were half way done when the facility manager came in to check on our work before she left for the night. She was so amazed at the results she was seeing with this new system, that she insisted we use it on all of their carpet. Which was our intention anyway. It was already groomed and protected to where We cut an hour off of the time it took to clean this facility. So if you’re a business owner, call and ask about Encapsulation for your commercial carpet. It will be the best move you ever made. I guarantee it.

I am a carpet and upholstery cleaner for Advantage Chemdry a sister company to “All Clean Air Duct Cleaning” and I have received a little training on the Utah air duct cleaning process. I was recently at a customer’s house where they were having their whole house cleaned before they move into the house they just bought. I was there first to clean up the carpets and they told me that they were having air duct cleaners coming just after I got started on my work. So they show up and I see them speaking to my customer and I was expecting for them to come in with all of their equipment like what I have seen All Clean use. Instead they came in with a large vacuum like the ones from a central vac unit. I then looked out at their car and saw that they had no van but an older car with a large trunk for the equipment. Also their large facial hair and earrings didn’t seem very professional but I guess matched the car I saw. I talked to them and they said that they just open up the vents and pushed a scrubber brush down the vents then went behind with the big vacuum hose. Also the customer said that they saw signs of mice in the basement and maybe in the vents. The customer came to me and asked about a product that the duct cleaners were trying to sell them that was for $200 that would decompose any rat or mice droppings along with the mice themselves. I had never heard of a product like that but they wanted my opinion on it. It’s hard because with the method that All Clean uses there would be no need to decompose anything because their cleaning process would suck up any and all droppings and things left in the ducts or furnaces. The way All Clean does their cleaning an expensive decomposing chemical would not be necessary. All clean has disinfectants that are recommend to fog through the system but there will not be things left in the ducts to decompose.

In the long run I am much more impressed with the way that All Clean Air Duct Cleaning scrubs their customer’s vents. They seem to be a whole lot more thorough with their negative air flow system and what seems to me a whole lot better scrubbing action of the vents. I can’t imagine just spraying some stuff down my heater vents to decompose rat feces then it turning into dust that will be circulated back throughout my house.

Recently, I had the pleasure of showing a customer the advantages of using Chem Dry Utah carpet cleaning verses dry cleaners. We had cleaned her sofa a couple of days earlier when she called our office and asked if we could get throw-up out of a sofa cushion covers. During the conversation I found out that she had taken the covers off of the cushions and sent them to a dry cleaner to remove the odor days before we came out. So I had her bring the covers in and as I was cleaning them for her, we discussed the difference between wet and dry cleaning. Dry is Dry, it does nothing. Water with agitation and some upholstery pretreatment was all it took. So if you have any questions about whats on the label and how its supposed to be cleaned, give us a call please! With more than 30 years Utah carpet cleaning experience you can be sure that we know how to care for your carpet and upholstery.

Normal messes on carpet or upholstery take normal Utah carpet cleaning. However there are times when a death of a loved one, human or pet can cause bodily fluids to get all over the carpet and or upholstery. This can be a more extensive cleaning that your Utah carpet cleaning appointment would be able to do. In many instances the material needs to be removed out of the home. This can be done safely and effectively by our trained professionals. We have a team of professionals able to remove the toughest of messes and restore your home back to normal. In some instances building material needs to be removed and replaced, such as carpet, padding, subfloors and drywall. Most times these types of accidents could be covered under homeowners insurance and our sister company “Bio Clean of Utah” would work directly with them after you call us. We hope that you may never need to call us for such a cleanup, but things happen and when they do it is best to leave it to those who can do it correctly.

There are many options when it comes to carpet and upholstery cleaning. You can pick and choose acording to what you want the most. If it is purely price then I would caution that you get what you pay for. If you want to you can even go and rent a machine and do it yourself. I did that once and ended up spending a lot more than I expected because of needing to buy more and more soap. The process of doing it myself took most of a whole day with the help of my college roomate. The carpets then took about 24 hours to dry and when it was dry it didn’t look like the carpets where much cleaner at all. This was almost ten years ago and I had no idea about all of the professional options that were available. We try our hardest to stay really competitive with our prices but we know that you can find a cheaper cleaner if you look for it. Just know that the poeple that come to your door may not be as professional, they may not have the equipment neccesary to do the job as satisfactory and you may be left with soaking wet carpets for days not hours.

Ready to give your home a top-to-bottom buffing? Start by focusing your efforts on the big pieces and on the places that make the most difference to you: furnishings, appliances, and carpeting. Once you’ve covered these major tasks, you’ll have your home spring-cleaned in no time.

1. Make doormats welcoming.

Shake ‘em, wash ‘em, swat ‘em with a broom. Give them the toughest cleaning they can take. They’re your front line against tracked-in dirt — so keep them clean enough to function at peak efficiency.

2. Clean carpets and upholstery.

Fabrics that have absorbed a winter’s worth of dirt, body oil, and germs will need a deep cleaning to get them ready for another year of wear — and for that close inspection by your relaxing guests.

Some additional tips for your Utah carpet cleaning or Utah upholsterycleaning. Save time by moving furniture just slightly out of the room or against the wall, as the old rules dictated — and place the legs of each piece back on top of small wax paper squares after cleaning. The wax paper will protect your carpet and keep the furniture legs from getting wet as the carpet dries. Open the windows to speed the drying process, which can take a few hours or so. Call your Utah Carpet Cleaning professional carpet and upholstery cleaner like Advantage Chem-Dry to do the work and take the morning off or even on a Saturday

3. Finish your floors.

To protect the floors in your kitchen from another year of wear and tear, wax or apply a sealer following label directions. The simplest method: Use a combination wash-and-wax floor cleaner. Don’t feel guilty about saving time!

No-wax floors don’t need a polishing treatment, but an occasional makeover will keep them looking fresher — and add a protective buffer that could help them last longer. Use a floor cleaner that cleans, shines, or both. It’s best to follow label directions for proper use of each product. If you have wood floors, move furniture and rugs aside, then apply a wood cleaner and either liquid or paste polish to clean and add a new wax coating.

And don’t forget your Utah tile and grout cleaning.

4. Wash walls, cabinets, baseboards, and woodwork.

The walls may not look as if they need a bath — after all, dust and soot fall to the floor, right? Most of it does, but just enough clings to vertical surfaces to warrant a seasonal or preholiday bath. Use a sponge and hand dishwashing detergent, washing the surface in sections. A sponge mop makes it easier to reach higher spots. Use two buckets: one for dishwashing detergent solution and another for wringing your sponge. Dry the walls and woodwork with a clean cloth.

5. Vacuum with intelligence.

The old rules mandated that you go through the labor-intensive task of dragging every stick of furniture off the carpet, just so the vacuum cleaner could cover every nook and cranny. The new rules will save you time, and you’ll still get the corner-to-corner cleaning done: Simply move those big items a little to the left or to the right. Vacuum the area previously occupied by the furniture and then move it back into place.

6. Clean ceiling fixtures.

Remove dust and dirt from ceiling fans and air-conditioner vents with a cloth and a vacuum with a soft nozzle attachment.

7. Clean your light fixtures.

A few minutes with a stepladder, all-purpose cleaner, a sponge, and a polish cloth will give new light to your life. If your home has skylights or tall ceilings, consider investing in a stepladder and extended-reach dust-and-dirt-removal tools, all of which are available at your local hardware store and at home — and janitorial — supply stores.

8. Check your coils.

You should clean the refrigerator’s condenser coil, usually found behind the toe grille, with a long-handled bottle brush and a vacuum cleaner with an attachment hose to remove dust and lint. Built-up dust can shut down the unit by causing it to overheat.

To remove dust from coils attached to the hard-to-reach back side of the fridge, carefully pull the refrigerator out several feet (newer models roll on casters) and vacuum thoroughly; finish by sweeping or vacuuming the floor area you’ve revealed. Expect to rediscover coins, bottle caps, and twist ties that you and the cat knocked over the past year.

The laser hair removal process is not one that takes a lot of time. For each session of the laser treatment, you can be in and out in less than an hour. Also, the sessions are often not too close between, like weekly; and once they are done, you are through for the rest of the year. What could be more convenient for hair removal?

The affordability of laser hair removal is one reason ladies can’t get enough of it. Funny, once it was meant to be a strictly medical procedure. But things have come a long way since. Technology has evolved, people have evolved, and the procedure can be carried out with so much more ease… and with better results all the time.

Before they do laser hair removal on you, they may want to know how you skin is affected by it so that they know how to prepare the beam of light. But I don’t think there is anyone totally allergic to light, is there? It works for everyone.

If you don’t trust laser hair removal, the least you can do is read up about it. If you still can’t understand it, get a professional to open up your mind. Long before you are through, you should have it all down, and then you’ll know it really is good.

You might worry about laser hair removal because you are not sure how long the whole process lasts. I understand, but I don’t think you should dwell very much on it. I think you should speak to a doctor first.
